7th March 2009

With the fishing season imminent , Caurnie angling club members Stuart Malcolm and Fraser McClure take off for a saturday afternoons Pike fishing on the Forth and Clyde Canal. With extreme weather conditions making fishing seem impossible , Stuart still manages to hook into a magnificent specimen of approximately 3 Ibs spinning a large mepp. With Fraser using the same method it wasnt long before he also hooked into an even larger specimen of approximately 4lbs, this pike totally powdered his large mepp. The Caurnie duo couldn`t have asked for a better days fishing leading up to the new season

After a few hours Fly Fishing at Roughrigg,Fraser McClure decided to change tactics and switched to spinning with a Rappalla , a wise decision
as he hooked into a Rainbow of 3 1/2 lb ,putting
incredible strain on the rod , frasers patience paid
off catching him an amazing specimen.--
